RESEARCH INTERESTS
Broadly defined my research focuses on democratization as it has been exemplified at the local level and on the role that diverse actors state, civil society and market-play in this process. Specifically, my scholarly inquiries address three distinct but interrelated areas: 1) the process of decentralization and devolution of power during the regime changes, 2) the policy implications of such changes, and 3) the role that gender relations play in these processes.
